Adding Curb Appeal with a New Roof!

What is Curb Appeal?

Wikepedia defines curb appeal as “An attractiveness of the exterior of a residential or commercial property, as viewed from the street.” As a roofing company, curb appeal is our business. Call us biased, but nothing is more attractive to us on a house than a beautiful roof. Yes Yes, the rest of the house is important too, but expertly install an architectural 50 year shingle on that house, and we are happy! But recognizing that our love for roofs isn’t necessarily shared with the rest of the general population, here are some other tips to add curb appeal to your home pulled from our pinterest page (have you followed us yet?)

DIY Projects

Curb Appeal IdeasDisplaying your house numbers in a creative way is a relatively easy way to add some curb appeal. There are many ways to execute this concept, that you can do yourself! Again, are you following us on Pinterest yet?

Can we talk about the roof now?

Yay! This is our favorite part! As you know, the attractiveness of your home determines its curb appeal. There are many ways to achieve this, from an easy weekend diy project, to a major overhaul, such as new windows, a fresh coat of paint, or re-designing your landscaping. But overlooking the roof can be a huge mistake. This doesn’t necessarily mean a full roof replacement. If your roof is relatively new, getting up there and cleaning off debris, and checking for loose shingles (and having them professionally repaired) may be all you need to refresh the look of your home. But if your roof is getting up there in age, or you are looking to upgrade to a different look, here are some roofing systems to consider

Architectural Asphalt Shingles:

Roofs installed by Chase Construction NW, Inc.A heavyweight architectural shingle will not only add that much desired curb appeal, but it can even add value to your home! With multiple color choices to fit any personality, these shingles also boast a “dimensional look” that add even more visual appeal to the roof. A couple systems that we work with (and our most popular choices) are the IKO Cambridge Architectural Roofing Shingles, and the GAF Timberline HD shingles. Both systems come with warranties that will make you comfortable about the investment, and if we install your roof system, you will even have access to exclusive warranties!

Metal Roof:

Metal Roofs installed by Chase Construction NW, Inc.Metal is becoming more and more popular as a residential roofing system. But why metal? A standing seam metal panel roof such as NuRay roofing products can save you up to 40% of energy costs compared to asphalt shingles. Just like asphalt shingles, it will add re-sell value to your home, but it lasts 4 times longer! Edco has a line of steel shingles that resemble shake! “The next generation of metal roofing” is becoming a popular choice for residential homes as well. Coming in blended, HD imaging, multi-tone colors, you can achieve a soft, weathered look with a steel “cedar” shake that won’t fade or diminish. EDCO Generations roofing will not warp, split, peel, or crack and defies winds up to 160 mph. Metal is also virtually maintenance free!

Charitable Projects

Day 2 in National Roofing Week is highlighting charitable projects in the roofing industry. We at Chase Construction NW, Inc. are always looking for ways to help out our fellow man. Every year we choose several projects to give back to our community. Last year, we were able to bless a fellow “12th man” with free labor, a free skylight and discounted roofing material for a much needed new roof. You can check out that project here, or watch the video here. This year we are taking our efforts across the world as we partner with New Horizon Church in Fife and fly to Tha Ton, Thailand!

Heading to Thailand!

Chase is going to Thailand

Our fearless leaders Joel and Melanie Beattie will be traveling again to Thailand later this year to work with the leaders at Faith Village. Founded in 1996 by Pastors David and Paula Mahawon, Faith Village is a ministry of Trumpets of Christ International, and is a safe haven for children who are orphaned, abused, in danger or have been trafficked for child prostitution or slave labor, and forced into rebel armies. In 2013 they were able to travel to Faith Village, with the intention of performing roofing work. When they got there, Joel asked the Pastor David Mahawon if there was a roofing project he could work on, and there was indeed a building on the property that was without a roof. It stood for several years with just the brick walls and concrete foundation. The young men of Faith Village have been wanting to put a bamboo roof on it, but Pastor David had always said that they will be able to put a permanent roof on it some day. Chase Construction Nw, Inc. in ThailandJoel asked him how much it would take to buy the roofing material, and it turned out that it was exactly how much Joel had brought with him for a roofing project! Check out the video here. They can’t wait to go back this year! The projects that they will be working on, along side of New Horizon Church, is a soccer camp for the community, as well as building a small market and cafe on the main road, to use as a source of income for Faith Village. We can’t wait to hear the stories that they will bring back with them!

Thank you Joel and Melanie!

National Roofing Week 2016!

National Roofing Week Chase Construction North West Inc.The highlight of the summer for the roofing industry!

The NRCA’s National Roofing week is happening June 5-11 this year, and we couldn’t be more excited! This annual tradition of increasing awareness across the U.S. about the importance of hiring a professional roofing contractor, and making informed decisions about maintaining or replacing any roof system, National Roofing Week 2016is one of our favorite weeks each summer! Your biggest asset is your home, and one of the main goals of National Roofing Week, is to bring attention to this often overlooked part of your home – your roof! When you don’t pay attention to your roof, it can fall into disrepair costing you time, effort, and money!

Why is important to hire a professional roofer?

Proud Members of the NRCAThe National Roofing Contractors Association (NRCA) wants to highlight the significance of hiring a professional roofer. Too often we are hired to fix the work of a substandard roofer that is now out of business. We are happy to fix the problem, but it is costing our customers time and money that they would have saved if they hired a professional roofer to begin with. Anyone can become a roofing contractor, so how do you know that you are getting a quality roofing contractor like Chase Construction NW, Inc.?

Hire Local:

Hiring a local roofing contractor not only assures that you are not getting a “storm chaser” roofer that is in your area looking for damaged roofs to fix, then moves on to the next area after significant weather. It also means that you can have references to confirm the credibility of the roofers work.

Insurance:

One of the first ways to be able to tell if you are working with a quality roofing contractor is to ask for a copy of their insurance certificate. The contractor should have insurance for all employees and subcontractors. With GAF Master Elite® Contractors such as Chase Construction NW, Inc. you can relax knowing that they must hold appropriate levels of Workers Compensation (where required by law) and General Liability coverage.

Factory Certification:

If a roofer can only offer one type of roofing material, this is not a good sign. A good roofing contractor will have multiple material and manufacture certifications. This means that they were trained by that company to install their product. Taking the time and money to gain a certification is a good indication that the roofer cares about the industry and the customer.

Extended Warranties:

Along with Factory Certifications, a good roofer should be able to offer a variety of warranties, including extended or exclusive warranties. Manufactures don’t allow just any roofer to be able to offer such warranties, certain standards, and ongoing training must take place.

We are your Professional Roofing Contractor!

Chase Construction NW, Inc. is trained and certified with several manufactures including, GAF, IKO, NuRay Metals, GACO Western, EDCO, to name a few. We are Master Elite Roofing Contractors, as well as IKO Shield Pro Plus Contractors, and are able to offer a wide variety of warranties, roofing products and applications! Our professional crew has been installing roofs in the Puget Sound area for over 14 years, and we have no plans of slowing down! So if you are in need of a new roof, or just a repair, we are here for you! Call us today for your free estimate – 253-445-8950 or fill out our quick estimate form! We look forward to working with you!
