A Day of Great Respect & Appreciation
Here at Chase Construction North West Inc., we LOVE our Veterans and cannot begin to express our appreciation for their services. The first Veteran’s Day (previously called Armistice Day) was proclaimed by President Woodrow Wilson in 1919 with the following moving and powerful phrase:
“To us in America, the reflections of Armistice Day will be filled with solemn pride in the heroism of those who died in the country’s service and with gratitude for the victory, both because of the thing from which it has freed us and because of the opportunity it has given America to show her sympathy with peace and justice in the councils of the nations…”
Though this occurred nearly a century ago, we remember the heroism our service men and women exemplified and honor our Veterans. We celebrate every year on November 11th, the anniversary of the end of World War I. Britain, France, Australia and Canada also commemorate the Veterans of World War I and II on or near November 11th. There are 19.3 million Veterans in the United States today and they deserve every bit of appreciation they receive on this very special day!
